The 2009 season of the Super League Malaysia is the 6th edition since its inception in 2004. This season features 14 teams. DPMM FC (Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota FC) was excluded from the competition. The competition kicked off on 3 January 2009. The 2010 Super League Malaysia was the 6th season of the highest Malaysian football league since its inception in 2004. Fourteen teams participated in the league, nine state teams and five club teams, with Kedah FA as the defending champions. The season began on 3 January 2009 and ended on 3 August 2009. Selangor won their first Malaysia Super League title since its inception in 2004. ==Teams==
A total of 14 teams compete in the 2009 season which includes the top 12 teams that participated in the 2007-08 season and champions and runners-up of the 2007-08 Malaysia Premier League.
